It wasn't my best decision but I headed out to the Westport Jetty at an ungodly early hour to try for a repeat lingcod or any fish really, I am not that picky... The sun was slow to rise and the dredging ship was still slumbering.
What I should have foreseen is that wet jetty rocks are slick rocks and a few too many leaps while slipping robbed my nerves. Once I felt like I had tempted fate sufficiently, I set up camp on the ocean side. The harbor seals thought there were fish around but I didn't have any luck. On the bay side I only succeeded in landing an amorous pair of red rock crabs when the male unit must have decided he also required a snack.
Headed to work empty handed and a little sleepy but probably going to be back again soon. The views are a major upgrade over the insides of my eyelids.
