The lamest of titles for one of the most beautiful lakes in the world but I intend to make a yearly pilgrimage to pay my respects so stay tuned for Baker Lake - 2056 (a geriatric's guide to fishing for robot sockeye via kayak drone)! The one sockeye came before we had even finished our first trolling pass and he was leaping and ripping through the water so fast that I was sure he would slip the hook. The Baker sockeye stay out to sea longer than their Columbia based cousins and this makes them significantly larger. It took a good hour for my hands and nerves to settle down. Moral was high in the fleet but sadly that was the end of the action for the weekend...
