Hiking up the Humptulips

Sticking with the theory that if the fish aren't cooperating you might as well see some new country, I headed up the Humptulips in search of the summer steelhead that continue to elude me. That lasted a few minutes and then I started to put the water proof claim of my new phone to the test:

The rocks were very distracting but I eventually continued the wade upstream to scout out the rougher water where the trout like to hide out:

A few were even willing to play along:
Harder to get the squirmers to hold still under water...
Still no steelhead but it was a good cool down from the Snow Lake hike the day before. The phone fervently disagreed and went on strike (muffled speaker and a refusal to recharge). It took some hair dryer therapy and a renegotiation of the dunking ground rules to get things straightened out. We are back on speaking terms.
